We met the sun with another step. We didn't feel its heat with the light. But now we could see our steps. And the wet, waist high grass we'd been trampling all night. No sound changed, but you could hear the relief. The night had passed us up. Its cold still held our bones. But we could see our numbers, see our brothers. We could see our king riding in our midst. No man faltered in stride but each of us faltered in our heart. The night was long and we pushed towards a mystery. A dreadful, dreadful mystery. Our hunger would not abait, neither our fears. But now we could meet our fears with our lights.
